Attention Class of 2018 Families! This is YOUR information page. As we rapidly approach the end of your student's time at Chattahoochee, there will be a lot of news and information shared by the school and the PTSA. Please check this site regularly for updates.

CLASS OF 2018 EVENTS AND INFORMATION

Information about all events will be published as it becomes available. As much as possible, this list is ordered by the event's occurrence during the school year:

Senior Portraits 

Cady & Cady is the official photographer for Chatthoochee, and they must be used for the yearbook photo. Visit the Cady Studios Website to book your session, or call 678-951-0102. DEADLINE TO BE INCLUDED IN THE YEARBOOK IS OCTOBER 25.

Senior Activities

Senior Activities includes a number of events and perks for the Class of 2018 as follows:

~ Monthly Senior Treats during lunch periods.
~ Class of 2018 Kick-off Ice Cream Social
~ Graduation Yard Sign (distributed in May)
~ Senior Gold Envelopes (received by student at graduation)
~ Student PTSA Membership

 

The PTSA is no longer accepting Senior Activities payments.

Senior Yearbook Ads

The back of the Hooch yearbook is always dedicated to the graduating seniors. Senior ads are a way to specifically recognize your student and/or their accomplishments with a personalized message and select family photographs. You save money by submitting your ads early. Graduation Announcements

Order through Balfour. Students receive an order packet in early January and will have an opportunity to place orders during lunch in January. Orders can be placed online at this link.

Scholarships

Local and national scholarship opportunities are available in abundance. We will post some on the PTSA Facebook page. Check with the college & career center for opportunities.

Cap & Gown

$65 Graduation fee payable to Balfour includes cap, gown, tassel, and diploma cover. Order online at http://www.gabalfour.com/

Graduation Adornments (collars, cords, tassels) can be purchased through each student organization, contact the organization staff representative for information.

Cum Laude (88% GPA), Magna Cum Laude (92% GPA) and Summa Cum Laude (96%GPA)  honor cords are made available for purchase in May at the school store. A list of recipients is available. 

Baccalaureate Service

The Baccalaureate Service for 2018 is scheduled for Sunday, May 20, 2018 at 2:00pm. 
 
This non-denominational, student-driven service will be held at Mount Pisgah United Methodist Church.  Invitations and more information will be sent out in late March.  
 
STUDENT PHOTOS ARE REQUESTED FOR THE VIDEO MONTAGE 
TO BE PLAYED AT THE SERVICE. PLEASE EMAIL PHOTOS BY MARCH 15TH OF 
YOUR GRADUATE THROUGH THE YEARS TO TERIPHELPS@GMAIL.COM.  
PHOTOS MUST BE IN JPEG FORMAT. LIMIT 3 PICTURES. 

 

Exam Exemptions

SENIOR SPRING SEMESTER FINAL EXAM EXEMPTIONS

Seniors are able to exempt Final Exams in their last semester with the following criteria met: 

1) An average  of 85 or higher in the seventeenth week 

2) No more than four (4) absences from the class (excluding school activities and religious holidays)

3) No more than four (4) tardy arrivals to the class

4) Seniors with more than four (4) absences must have a grade of 93 or higher in the seventeenth week

5) Submit a completed Senior Final Exam Exemption form

*Note that for senior exemptions, absences due to "pre-approved, excused, unexcused, ISS/OSS" are considered absences from class

*Note that for senior exemptions, the grade point average does not include honors points ?

Scholarship Offers

Student scholarship offers will be announced during the graduation ceremony. Students should retain information about all offers, not just those that were accepted. These offers will be collected by the counseling office in May.

Senior Exit Survey/Bridge Bill Law Activity

All graduating seniors must complete these two activities before May 5 in order to received their graduation tickets. Many students will have an opportunity to complete them during English class, but those who do not must make arrangements with the counseling office. 

Graduation Practice

Graduation practice will be held at Verizon on Tuesday May 22, 2018 at 1:30PM.  Practice is mandatory for students wishing to participate in the ceremony on Friday. 

Graduation Tickets

Each student will receive 6 graduation tickets. Graduation tickets will be distributed during graduation practice. Students will not receive their tickets unless all school-related fines (library, textbooks, etc.) have been paid in full. For families needing more than 6 tickets, students will typically work with each other via social media or personal connections to reallocate tickets. Additional tickets will also be on sale May 21st at $10 each.

Class of 2018 Graduation Ceremony

The Class of 2018 Graduation Ceremony will be held at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre on Friday May 25, 2018 at 7:30PM.
