Braeside PTO Committees

Bobcat Birthdays!
Chair:   Allie Davidsen

This committee takes responsibilty for the installation and breakdown of birthday signs purchased through the Bobcat Birthdays! fundraising initiative.  

Book Fair
Chair:   Cara Hoffberg / Carly Jones

Book Fair is a Fall event that raises money for the IMC.  The Book Fair Committee works with the school's librarian to coordinate volunteers and assist with event logistics such as set-up/break-down and event staffing. The committee also takes responsibilty for coordinating the Lunch with a Loved One, Dad's & Donuts and StoryTime with Teacher events which run in conjunction with the Fair.

Box Tops for Education
Chair:   This Committee Is In Need Of A Chair

The Box Tops Committee coordinates the collection of "box tops" and manages enrollment in the Box Tops for Education program which donates money to Braeside, based on purchases made by Bobcat families.

Braeside Beautification
Chair:   This Committee Is In Need Of A Chair

The Braeside Beautification team works with members of the school's staff to beautify and maintain Braeside‘s historic building and grounds.

Class Pictures
Chair:   This Committee Is In Need Of A Chair

This committee organizes the school's annual picture day, photo retake day and 5th grade class pictures. Volunteers work with the professionals contracted through the school district.  Dates are set by principal.

Community Service
Chair:   Janea Harris / Jamie Muller

Members of the Community Service Committee work to empower and support students as they learn and develop skills that are essential in successfully completing service projects that positively impact the greater community.

Field Days
Chair:   Kirk Moore / Amanda Wood

Field Days is an end of year celebration filled with class competitions, games, fun and a family picnic.  Volunteers on this committee work with the P.E. staff in coordinating the day's activities as well as securing Field Day T-Shirts and supplies and organizing / managing vendors and volunteers.

Fifth Grade Promotion
Chair:   Brittany Zelwin

This committee is comprised of 5th grade parents and takes responsibility for all Fifth Grade Promotion activities including a celebration lunch, fundraising for the class gift, Fifth Grade Promotion t-shirts and end of the year party. 

Food Days
Chair:   This Committee Is In Need Of A Chair

Food Days is a fundraising program that offers Bobcat families the opportunity to order lunches through local vendors and then distributes those lunches to students on a daily basis. 

Green Team / Sustainability
Chair:   Sharone Marck / Philippa Djemal

The Green Team works with students and staff on environmentally focused projects within the school setting including the Lunchroom Compost Project and events/activities surrounding Earth Day.

Chair:   This Committee Is In Need Of A Chair

Along with welcoming new families to the Braeside community throughout the year, the Hospitality Committee organizes the start of school Newcomers Tea and the Spring Teacher Appreciation Week and Staff Luncheon .  Volunteers also keep the staff cooler supplied and stocked and provide lunch and refreshments for teachers during fall/spring conferences. 

Library Liaisons
Chair:   Cara Hoffberg / Phillipa Djemal

Library Liaisons assist  the librarian with checking out/in books and other library related activities.

MLK Day of Service
Chair:   Carrie Newman

In recognition of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, this parent run committee provides assistance and support to the WE School students and the Character Crusaders in the organization of a community related service project and activities surrounding the MLK Day of Service.

Room Parents
Chair:   Ashley Kelly / Karina DeHayes / Lesley Kieferbaum

Room Parents are a group of volunteers working specifically to support their child's homeroom teacher. Room Parent responsibities include organizing both the Halloween and Valentine's Day classroom parties, promoting and gathering classroom support for Braeside activities, assisting the PTO during Teacher Appreciation Week as well as collecting money for, and organizing, holiday and end of the year gifts.  Room Parents are selected at the beginning of each school year.


School Supplies
Chair:   Cara Hoffberg

This committee oversees all things related to student school supplies including managing a relationship with the school's chosen supplier and the coordination of a Spring meeting with the  principal and staff to determine inventory.  Volunteers will also publicize and execute the sale of items on line, provide support to families that wish to purchase supplies independantly and organize class room distribution in the Fall.

Skate Night
Chair:   This Committee Is In Need Of A Chair

Skate Night is an annual Braeside favorite that takes place at Centennial Ice Arena each January.  Committee members are responsible for the organization of the event including management of vendors, volunteers, refreshments, raffles, ticket sales and publicity.

Spirit Wear
Chair:   Kristi Forehand / Allie Davidson

The Spirit Wear committee is responsible for sales and distribution of Bobcat themed/logoed apparel, school supplies and gifts on the web and at PTO sponsored events. 

Square 1 Art
Chair:   Kirk Moore / Carly Jones

In coordination with the school's art teacher, Square 1 Art is a fundraising project in which students create original peices of art that can then be turned in to keepsake items and gifts made available for purchase to Braeside families and friends.

Used Book Sale
Chair:   Jeri Henoch / Nicole Carrow

This committee is responsible for the collection of books and DVDs to be sold at the annual Used Book Fair.  Volunteers also assist with event set-up/breakdown, publicity and staffing.

The Yearbook Committee oversees the production of the annual yearbook and is responsible for taking/collecting appropriate photos as well as working with the school's yearbook vendor to format photos and copy in to a final product.
