2019-2020 Events

If you don't see a link under a description - the volunteer sign up is coming soon!

Central School Auction

March 28, 2020

The Central School Auction is the HSA’s biggest and best fundraiser!  Held semi-annually, the event is not only an awesome night out for parents, but is your chance to help raise the most money to go directly back to the HSA and back to the students at Central. This is an opportunity both for volunteers who would like to work on a longer-term planning commitment throughout the year and/or who can help out on a shorter term as the event gets closer.  The auction chairs need all types of creative help - everything from basket wrapping to writing and editing to event set up and clean, so please sign up for this big fundraising event! A planning meeting will be held closer to the event to narrow down event specific opportunities for those that sign up.

Central School Fun Fair

June 12, 2020 6:30-8:30pm

Come help out at one of the “funnest” events of the year!  Central School Fun Fair needs volunteers for set up (3:30 – 6:30pm), event help (6:30-8:30pm) and clean up (8:30-9:00pm).  The Fun Fair is a mini-carnival run by Central School parents. Food, games, bouncy fun, carnival entertainment and dancing are all included in a great end of year celebration for Central families.  This is a great way to pitch in for a one time event without any long-term or daytime commitment. Event timeline and volunteer slots will be finalized as the event date approaches.

Volunteers needed: approximately 45 total volunteers for set up, event and clean up

March 11, 2020

Central School students celebrate science at the STEAM Fair! Held in the evening and during the school day for student presentations, students put together experiments and present their findings to their classmates and their parents.  Volunteers are needed in the evening to help set up.

Teacher Appreciation Week

Monday - Friday, May 4, 2020 - May 8, 2020

Teacher Appreciation Week is a fun and special week where Central School families can express their gratitude for all of the hard-working and dedicated Central School teachers and staff.  From food donations to lunch preparation to decorating, there are several fun opportunities throughout the week to participate and give back to those who make Central School so special.

Movie Night

September 13, 2019

Central School Movie Night is a great welcome back to school event!  Volunteers are needed to help set up and clean up at this fun evening event - where Central School families enjoy a movie under the stars outside on Central’s field area.

Autumn Fun Day

October 5, 2019

Join the HSA for what has become a beloved Saturday morning tradition for Central School families.  This event involves scarecrow making for display along the front of Central School, pumpkin decorating, and more fall fun activities!  Volunteers are needed for prep and set up, day of set up and event duration and clean up. This is an ideal opportunity for volunteers available on a single October weekend (Saturday) and for a one-time, short commitment to help clean up post-event.

Volunteers needed: approximately 1 volunteer from each class for event day and clean up (scarecrow removal)

Walk to School Day

October 10, 2019

Join the movement and help Central School walk to school!  This healthy and fun event supports walking to school by providing “walking bus stops” at various locations nearby to Central School.  The bus stops head to Central altogether to make the morning more fun. A treat (apples) await student walkers upon arrival. Volunteers are needed to help run the walking bus stops and greet students upon arrival with apples.

Book Fair

November 12 & 13, 2019

Central School students love to read and love to shop!  The Book Fair is an HSA fundraising event which brings these two loves together, as students have the chance to shop for books (for themselves and for their classrooms) in the evening and during school hours.  Volunteers are needed for set up, evening event help, daytime (school day) event help and clean up.

School Musical

September 2019 to January 12, 2020 (Production Date)

Central School Musical is a fun and fabulous production put on by our fourth and fifth graders.  A parent(s) coordinator is needed (to work with our musical directors) and volunteers are needed to help with auditions and rehearsals until showtime!
