Arrivals and Dismissals


  • Students may arrive at school between 8:10 and 8:30. We are hosting morning recess with supervision beginning at 8:10 on both east and west playgrounds.
  • Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd graders should head to the east (blue) playground to begin the day.
  • Third, 4th, and 5th graders should go to the west (red) playground to begin the day.
  • If children walk or ride their bikes, please remind them not to arrive before 8:10 and not to congregate near the bike racks.
  • The bell will ring for children to begin entering school at 8:25. a.m.
  • If you are driving your child, cars should head westbound on Walters Avenue and enter the first driveway and follow the circle. Staff members will be present to greet students.
  • School begins at 8:30. Any student arriving after the 8:35 bell will need to be signed in by a parent or caregiver at the front office. Please make every effort to ensure that your children are here on time to begin their days.

Cell Phones
Cell phone use is prohibited by law while driving in school zones. Do not use your cell phone while in the school building or during field trip, and turn off the ringer while in school. The phone can be a distraction to our students and the teaching environment


  • Students will be dismissed at 3:30 p.m.
  • Our kindergarteners who walk or meet parents outside will be dismissed through their classroom or exterior doors. Parents, please do not cross onto the playground area until 3:30pm.
  • Students who ride the bus will be escorted and checked onto the bus by Meadowbrook staff at 3:25. Please contact First Student directly with any questions about bus pick-up or drop-off routes, timing, etc.
  • Students who ride cars home, will exit out the front doors at 3:30pm.
  • Students who walk home will exit through their arrival doors onto the playgrounds.
  • Please let the office or your child's teacher know as soon as possible if there is a change to the typical dismissal routine.
  • Cell phone use in school zones is prohibited.

Pick-up Traffic
Show consideration for our neighbors who live near Meadowbrook. While waiting in your vehicle on Walters Avenue for afternoon pick-up, do not block driveways so residents there can enter and exit their homes easily.
