Northvale PTO Committees

5K RUN/Laces For Learning
Chair:   TBD
Description:  

We need motivated volunteers to help get sponsors, set-up the day of and clean-up after the event.  In addition, we need volunteers to contact the local newspapers for advertising. This is a fun school and town event.  Cool

AFTER SCHOOL ENRICHMENT

Description:  

Our PTO has put together various after school classes for your child to enjoy.  We have keep the cost down by asking for volunteers.  It's a fun way to meet other parents and get to know the children. We need parent help with attendance and dismissal the day of the classes.

Participation is AFTER SCHOOL.

 
Bells and Whistles Fundraising
Chair:   Helpdesk
Description:   This committee is responsible for tracking the sales of the Paperless PTO Bells and Whistles fundraising program.
 
BINGO
Chair:   Veronica Connelly and Alexis Connelly
Description:  

This event is a winner for sure.  The kids go crazy for this night of fun! This event invites families to come and play BINGO.  We have great prizes and lots of smiles.  Snacks and beverages are served.  We are looking for volunteers to help purchase and wrap the prizes for the event.  Set-up and clean-up crew, refreshments and snack table, BINGO caller, check-in table....every job is fun.

BOARD OF EDUCATION LIASON

Description:  

Attend every Board of Education meeting and report back to the PTO members.

BOOK FAIR

Description:  

The volunteers are asked to help with organizing and staffing the Fall and Spring book fairs.  Set-up is usually done in the afternoon until early evening.  Great way to see the books your children get to choose from.

BOX TOPS
Chair:   Vanessa Aiello and Amy Evanisko
Description:  

Collect and tally box tops according to program deadlines.  Tell family and friends to collect box tops for you, this program has the potential to bring in a lot of money for the kids/school.

CASINO NIGHT
Chair:   Courtney Rampolla
Description:  

This event is never a gamble!  We need motivated volunteers to help with a wide variety of items.  This event takes place in February, but we start in September to reserve the banquet hall, solicitation and general details of the event.  The committee is responsible for securing entertainment, organization of prizes and raffles.... so much more, so much fun to be a part of.

CATALOG FUNDRAISER

Description:  

We need volunteers to organize, collect and distribute fundraising catalogs.   Fundraiser takes place in the Fall.

COAT DRIVE

Description:  

Help those in need of a warm coat.  We need volunteers to organize the drive.  Set up a box by the offices in both schools and collect the coats and distribute to the charity.

CULTURAL ENRICHMENT
Chair:   Veronica Connelly
Description:  

Select assemblies for the school year, which must be coordinated with the School Administration.  Responsible for making copies of worksheets and attending various assemblies.  Usually about 5 assemblies throughout the year.

FALL FESTIVAL
Chair:   Jessica Cloesmeyer
Description:  

The leaves are changing and there is a chill in the air which means it's time for the Fall Festival this year. Get dressed in your Halloween costume and get ready for a chill or thrill. Activities for the whole family including a DJ, face painting, crafts, costume contest and more. Come hungry if you dare we will have food for purchase.

FIELD DAY

Description:  

This event should be called FUN DAY!  Help organize events and schedule for that day with school administration. Volunteer the day of to work a station.

HEALTH & SAFETY

Description:  

Planning and presenting any programs for the children that will benefit their health and safety.  Coordinate Child Identification Program and Health & Fitness Fair.

ICE CREAM SOCIAL

Description:  

You scream I scream, we all scream for ICE CREAM!!  This is a ssswwweeeettt event.  We need people to be ice cream scoopers, man the popcorn machine, face painters and tattoo appliers.  This is a rain or shine event in June.

KIDS KREATIONS

Description:  

Coordinate art work with the Art Teacher, distribute the art work, compile order forms & distribute to parents.

KINDERGARTEN DANCE

Description:  

Calling all Kindergarten families!!!! Come and hang out with all your new friends!!  We will have a DJ so you can show off all your dance moves.  Meet new parents and new kids!  This committee is all about having fun!

 
KINDERGARTEN ROUND-UP

Description:  

Coordinate with kindergarten teachers crafts, activities & refreshments for students and parents during the registration/orientation in the Spring.

KOREAN FAMILIES COMMITTEE

Description:  

This committee is geared toward Korean parents. It will provide the oppotunity for parents to participate in the school community as a group.

LUNCH SERVERS-Please volunteer below to serve lunch!

Description:  

This is a great way to catch up with old friends and meet new friends, oh yea you have to hand out food too. Laughing

Volunteers would need to be available to serve all lunch periods (10:45am - 1:00) on the day they have choosen.  You usually serve lunch every 6 weeks. This is a great way to get involved.

MOTHER'S DAY PLANT SALE

Description:  

Organize the plants the day before.  Organize the tables the day of event.  Assist the children in choosing the perfect plant. Clean up, only takes a few minutes.

MOVIE NIGHT
Chair:   Sandra Brennan
Description:  

Sit Back Relax and enjoy the show! The aroma of popcorn fills the All Purpose Room.  Volunteers are needed to check in children and parents, make sure no one is playing in the bathrooms, making popcorn and stuffing goody bags.

NON PTO COMMITTEE - PICTURE DAY

Description:  

We ask that if you are a class parent you help out on this day as well as picture re-take day.  You can work in shifts.  It is a fun day of helping make sure the kids look their best for the photos.

 
NON PTO COMMITTEE: LIBRARY AIDES

Description:  

Provide the school library with volunteer service.  Helps in library with any library related activities (i.e. putting books away).

NON PTO COMMITTEE: READ-A-THON

Description:  

Works with school librarian on reading program by tallying record sheets from grades 1-3.  This event meets Fridays from January - March.

REFRESHMENTS

Provides refreshments for all PTO activities (including meetings and 1st day of Kindergarten).

SCHOOL BEAUTIFICATION COMMITTEE

SCRIPT PROGRAM

Description:  

Perfect fundraiser for the gift givers in your family!  Gift card fundraiser, send out flyer to parents with list of available gift cards, collect funds & distribute gift cards.

SPIRIT WEAR

Description:  

Let's all show our school spirit!  Help design logo and choose what items to offer.  Coordinate with the supplier to place order and deliver items to families.

Hop into a great committee.  Plan menu for the event.  Choose raffles and purchase prize baskets, wrap baskets.  Volunteers are also needed to serve the day of the event.

Who doesn't love a good talent show?! Well we have a great talent show to love!  Volunteers needed to organize participants, make posters, flyers, organize rehearsal times and help out during performance night.

WINTER BREAKFAST

Description:  

This is a very festive event that school age kids and younger siblings love.  A visit from our favorite chunky man in a red suit visits the boys and girls of Northvale.  So to make this event extra special we need you to help plan the menu, purchase raffles, and line up volunteers to serve and run event.

WINTER CONCERT / SPRING CONCERT

Description:  

This committee is geared towards helping Mr. Herndon set-up for the Winter Concert as well as the Spring Concert.  Items have already been purchased, they just need to be brought into the gym and set-up the day of the concert.  It is asked that committee arrives the next morning to take down and put away the items. Custodians will assist in putting items in the garage behind the school.  Other items will go to the storage facility.

 
WINTER GIFT SHOP
Chair:   Alma Giordano
Description:  

The kids love this event.  They are given the opportunity to buy items for their family and friends for the holidays.  We need volunteers to help organize the items, help the kids shop, man the tables for up to 2 days.
